Profile of Representative
Masao Kumori, MBE, President/CEO, KWBS Marketing & Trading Co., Ltd.
A founder of KWBS Marketing & Trading Co., Ltd. He entered into FDI business in 1988. Has over 30 years' experience in Japanese investment with successes of nearly 300 FDI projects, which are over $10 billion of the capex creating over 25,000 direct and 100,000 indirect jobs. Major successes include investment from Nissan Motor, Fujitsu, Mitsui, Shin-Etsu Chemical, Fuji Oil, Mitsubishi Chemical, Denka, Tosoh, Marelli (former Calsonic Kansei), Unipres, Kasai Kogyo, Vantec, Hitachi, Futaba, Toyoda Gosei, Taiyo Nippon Sanso, Toray, and many others.
Was the territorial manager of the UK government economic development agency ONE NorthEast, aimed to deliver inward investment, b2b alliance and R&D collaboration, until May 2011. Since started working in 1988, he achieved 279 projects including 177 FDI projects (Capex: £4.83 billion, Creation of new and safeguarded jobs: 11,067 & 12,807 jobs) in North East England. Awarded Honorary Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) from Her Majesty Queens Elizabeth II for contribution in this field in October 2012. After leaving ONE NorthEast, has experiences worked for several overseas EDOs such as Invest Ontario, Detroit Regional Partnerships, Qatar IFC, FIPA Tunisia, Brussels Invest & Export, and now Sunderland City Council, Louisiana Economic Development, DEED Minnesota Trade Office, and Business Oregon. Also, has trade experiences helping overseas EDOs and embassies in Tokyo for export promotion campaigns includes Embassy of Canada, Global Affairs Canada, Embassy of Australia, Ontario Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade, and recently Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada.
Graduated from BSBA-Marketing at University of San Francisco in 1984.
